Many Afghan frontier troops crossed the border to take refuge on the Pakistani side. Some officers also seek refuge due to continuous attacks by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Al-Jazeera has published the exact statement by the Pakistan army:
"An army statement says 46 members of Afghan forces, including five officers, cross border near the Pakistani town of Chitral in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province."
The Pakistani army has entertained Afghan forces and provided meals, safety, and required medical care as per military standards.
The Afghan government denied accepting the news of troops passing
into Pakistan. In retaliation, the Pakistan army has released a video of soldiers.
