Impacts of Coronavirus on Football Association

Like other sports, football has also got affected by the Covid-19 crisis. Football associations have canceled and postponed many major competitions and tournaments worldwide. Due to the coronavirus situation, china has postponed China's football league in 2020. And in Hong Kong, Lunar New Year Cup 2020 got canceled on 23rd January.

FIFA council has made major changes in plans due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The meeting was held via video call in which all main member associations participated. The meeting agenda was pre-scheduled leagues and tournaments. Most football leagues are postponed until this situation ends.

FIFA has also decided to allocate 1.2 billion Covid-19 relief fund for football development. The associations have made it clear that women football teams will also be part of the Covid-19 relief fund. FIFA also announced that Qatar will be the host for a new Pan-Arab tournament in 2021.

German Football Federation (FDB) also held a meeting regarding tournament schedules. On its website, the head coach said he is working again after taking a coronavirus related break. He said, their teams will be ready to participate in September’s tournament.
